Dine at Famous Daves on June 4th

The last Dining Out for BDX of the school year will be on Tuesday, June 4th at Famous Dave’s in Linden Hills.

Dine in or take out from 11am to 9pm –grab lunch or dinner and support BDX at the same time.  25% of the proceeds will be donated to the BDX General Fund in support of XinXing Chinese Immersion Program!

If you DO NOT receive a confirmation email after ordering you did not complete the ordering process.

School supply kits will be delivered to your child’s classroom for open house night. ALSO, 6th grade families, your child will need a calculator, if you don’t not have one at home already, you can purchase one with your child’s school supply kit. PLEASE note you need to buy it separate it will not come with your child’s kit already. We have a separate link on this site for you to purchase one.

This is a fundraiser as well for our XinXing Teachers wish lists. In the past they have been able to purchase 3-hole ring punchers, pencil sharpeners, books, and other items.

Longevity 2013 was a Success!

We raised nearly $23,000 for the Cultural and Laoshi funds and had a fantastic turnout!  Thank you to all the volunteers, committee members and attendees for making this our most successful event yet.

2012-2013 Grade Level Photo Books

Grade Level Photo books for the 2012-2013 school year are now available for purchase through Bei Dou Xing.  Each hardcover book includes photos and sentiments of XinXing students and teachers; there is a separate book for each grade level.

  • Purchase price is $55 per book.
  • Last day to order is May 11th
  • Books will be sent home in your child’s backpack the last week in May

Scholarship Program Established in China

A U.S. private equity tycoon has announced the establishment of a $300 million endowed scholarship program in China for students from around the world.  Beginning in 2016 the endowment will allow 200 students each year to take part in a one-year master’s program at Tsinghua University in Beijing, all expenses paid.  Read the full article here.

BDX Member Meeting May 20th

Mark your calendar for the next Bei Dou Xing member meeting at 7pm in room 233 of the Eisenhower Community Center.

Shirley Gregoire-Principal at West Junior High, Todd Roudabush-IB Coordinator, and Molly Wieland-XinXing curriculum coordinator will be joining us to talk about the new International Baccalaureate program for the Junior High and it’s impact on the XinXing program at West.  This will be a great opportunity to learn more about the junior high opportunities for XinXing immersions students.
